As we are operating in nature, we cannot guarantee that you will not get wet or fall in, but normally you will get wet feet, (hence wear suitable shoes), a wet bottom & a splash from the rapids - unless you choose to go for a swim, as many people do since the river rises to 26°C in the height of summer.

We have wetsuits & spray jackets available for you if required.

Rapids are classed from 1 (small) to 5 (extreme).

On our river we have grade 1 & 2 rapids, so relatively small. Our canoes are big enough to be fun, but small enough to be safe.

Your guide will be taking photos during your trip, & these will be emailed out to you after your trip. You can bring your own camera, we do have drybags available, but all cameras or phones brought on the trip are at your own risk.

It is not a requirement to be able to swim to join the tour. You will be in a lifejacket, & you have the option of a wetsuit as well. If you were to fall out of the boat in a rapid, you hold onto your boat or paddle if you can, keep your feet up, listen to your guide and please remember to smile. Our guides are fully trained in river rescue.

Although we are happy for you to participate while pregnant, we cannot guarantee safety for you & your baby, so it would be at your own risk.

If you are joining us pregnant, we require you to:

• Let the guide know of your condition before departure
• Fit the safety gear comfortably
• Be less than 28 weeks

Your guide reserves the right to alter, or cancel your trip if weather or river conditions are unsuitable for you.

We are based at the Bluemoon Lodge in Havelock, where we have toilets & changing rooms available. There are also toilets at the end of the river tour. Please be sure to ask where they are so we can protect our environment.

The great thing about our canoes being so stable, & us having experienced guides to look after you, is that you need no experience at all.

The minimum age is usually 6 years old, we have been known to take children younger, but this is by arrangement and prior notice, these kinds of bookings are subject to river levels and weather conditions.

48 hours, notice is required for cancellation, or payment will be charged in full.

All cancellations due to weather are at our guides discretion: all deposits will be returned in full or a new date will be set with no extra costs.

All safety, nature & hobbit information will be delivered in English, you will need a basic understanding of English or a friend to help you.
